RushAgent for Chrome extension · Last updated: 2026-10-15
The RushAgent for Chrome extension is published by the RushAgent team (developer). It lets the RushAgent desktop app on your computer use Chrome for an agent chat. This policy describes what the extension does with data.
Who the extension talks to
- The extension talks only to the RushAgent desktop app on the same computer, through Chrome native messaging.
- It sends nothing to remote servers of its own. It contains no analytics, no tracking and no advertising.
- When it connects, it tells the local app its version, a random instance id and whether Chrome's Site access is set to all sites.
Where it acts
- Only in Chrome tab groups that RushAgent created for an agent chat (named "RushAgent · …"). Your other tabs and windows are not read or touched.
- Only on sites you approved in the RushAgent app (for a chat, for an agent, or all sites if you choose that). A site you have not approved is refused before it is opened, read or acted on, and again inside the page, for example after a redirect or in an embedded frame.
What it reads and does
Only when the local RushAgent app asks, and only in those tabs and on approved sites, the extension:
- reads page content: the visible text, an accessibility-style snapshot of the page's controls, screenshots of the visible tab, and the page's address and title. For a site you have not approved, a tab title is reduced to the site's origin and frames from that site are not read;
- performs actions: opening pages, going back and forward, clicks, typing, scrolling, choosing options and downloading files from approved sites.
It does not read or type into password, payment-card or one-time-code fields, nor report which option is chosen in such a list (a card's expiry month, for example). It refuses to take a screenshot while such a field holds a value anywhere in the tab, embedded frames from other sites (such as payment forms) included, and also when Chrome does not let it check a frame. It does not read your browsing history, bookmarks or cookies.
What it stores
- In
chrome.storage.local: which tab group belongs to which agent chat, and a random instance id. - In
chrome.storage.session(cleared when Chrome closes): the width of the latest screenshot per tab.
Page content is not stored by the extension; it is passed to the local RushAgent app.
What happens in the RushAgent app
What the RushAgent desktop app does with page content is governed by your own setup. Your agents run on your computer and use the AI provider you chose for them; to do their work they may send page content to that provider, under that provider's terms. The RushAgent team does not receive that data through the extension.
Limited use
The use of information received from Chrome by the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose, letting your local RushAgent app use Chrome for your agent chats. It is not sold, not transferred to third parties except as described above at your direction, not used for advertising or for purposes unrelated to that purpose, and not used to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Your choices and removal
- Remove the extension at any time in
chrome://extensions; Chrome then deletes what it stored. - Revoke the sites you approved in the RushAgent app (Agent settings → Computer → My Chrome usage), or turn Chrome use off for an agent there.
